The Byerly Foundation is accepting grant requests until September 15, 2011. The Board will then consider these requests in October and November with expectations of awarding grants beginning in November. The first step in the Byerly Grant process is a concept letter to the Foundation (more info HERE). The Foundation focuses 100% on projects that involve the Hartsville, S.C. area and only makes grants to 501(c)(3) and eligible governmental organizations.

The mission of The Byerly Foundation is to improve the quality of life in Hartsville, South Carolina. We envision the Foundation as an instrument of positive change in our community. We will work with public and private interests to improve the education, economic and social needs of our citizens.

MEREDITH TAYLOR, principal of Hartsville Middle School, talks with the Byerly Foundation Board about her assessment of the Team Foxes Learning Academy's accomplishments during the 2009/2010 academic year. The Foundation has approved a $1.5 million grant for the program over a three-year period. This past academic year was Year One of this grant. The Principal made this presentation at the June 22, 2010 Byerly Foundation Board meeting.
